Why Education Matters to Community

Why Education Matters to Community

Birth Choice believes that EDUCATION is essential to a thriving community. Through education we are able to make wise choices without having regret. Education also allows us the opportunity to grow and have a better understanding of what is available to us. Without education a woman cannot make an informed decision. You’ve heard us say it before, but an empowered woman is an educated woman.

When a client calls looking for help, we are here to provide the education they need to make an informed decision. We believe that if a woman is educated on all her options, she will be able to make the best decision for herself based on what she has learned. At Birth Choice we provide education on pregnancy options: adoption, parenting, and abortion. We also provide information on birth control, sexual exposure, and other topics regarding sexual health. We don’t ever want a woman to feel as if she has no choices or feel cornered. Having choices allows a woman to feel more in charge of her life and her future.

Impacting communities with education starts before a couple is facing an unplanned pregnancy or a sexual transmitted disease. Although we are here to educate those in the midst of an unplanned pregnancy, we also know that the most effective way to create change is through educating communities early so that healthy practices can be put into place avoiding regret, shame and embarrassment. This is why we offer sexual wholeness workshops and parent talks. These classes allow us to educate young adults and their parents about what is needed to implement healthy practices early on. It is most beneficial to communities to be educated on sexual health before mothers are facing an unplanned pregnancy or an STI. This way they never have to face the question of “what do I do now?” “Where do I go for help?”,  and “What about my future?” Through educating young adults and families we are able to impact communities with young adults free from disease and couples who are ready to tackle parenthood.
